Samsung India is pushing out Android 7.1.1 Nougat update to its upper mid-range smartphone, the Galaxy C9 Pro. Samsung launched the Galaxy C9 Pro smartphone back in January 2017 for Rs. 36,900, but quickly reduced the price of the smartphone to Rs. 31,900. However, the smartphone is now available at Rs. 29,900 in the country.

Samsung has rolled out the update through an OTA, and it may take a few days for the update to reach your smartphone. This news was reported by Sammobile first, and the publication even claims that the rollout has begun on Wednesday. As per the report, the Galaxy C9 Pro will be updated to Android 7.1.1 Nougat with Samsung's new user interface and August 2017 security patches, which is still dated as Google already updated the Pixel and Nexus phones with November security patches.

The Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro is the South Korean giant's first smartphone to launch with 6GB of RAM in India. The C9 Pro goes against the likes of OnePlus 5 and Huawei Honor 8 Pro with its price tag, but it doesn't feature the same hardware as the other two. To recall, the smartphone was launched with Android Marshmallow out of the box.

Specifications wise, the Galaxy C9 Pro flaunts a 6-inch Full HD AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 chipset, which is an upper mid-range chip from Qualcomm. The chipset is accompanied by 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 128GB with a microSD card.

The C9 Pro offers a 16MP rear camera and a 16MP front-facing camera, which is one of the highlights of the device. It sports unimetal body, and the fingerprint sensor is integrated into the home button of the smartphone. Lastly, the C9 Pro is backed by a 4000mAh battery which is also backed with fast charging technology.
