Right after Bharti Airtel launching the Karbonn A40 Indian smartphone in collaboration with Karbonn, Vodafone and Idea Cellular were rumoured to launch affordable 4G smartphones in the country, and here's the first outcome of the partnership. So, Micromax and Vodafone joined hands and launched Micromax Bharat 2 Ultra smartphone at an effective price of Rs. 999.

Having said that, this offer from Micromax and Vodafone also works similar to the Airtel and Karbonn smartphone. The phone is originally priced at Rs. 2,899, which is the same amount customers has to pay while purchasing the device. After purchasing, users have to insert a Vodafone SIM card to enjoy affordable tariff plan of Rs. 150, whose benefits are yet to be disclosed by Vodafone. As per our sources, Vodafone will disclose the details of the Rs. 150 plan tomorrow.

The official sale of the Bharat 2 Ultra smartphone will commence in the first week of November.

So, a customer has to recharge with the Rs. 150 plan every month for 36 months to get a refund of Rs. 1,900. The refund will be issued in two parts- Rs. 900 at the end of 18 months and Rs. 1,000 at the end of 36 months, making it effective cashback of Rs. 1,900. Do make a note that the cashback will be credited to the customer's Vodafone m-pesa account.

Talking about the specifications of the Micromax Bharat 2 Ultra smartphone, it has a 4-inch WVGA display and is powered by the Spreadtrum SC9832 which is a quad-core processor with all the cores clocked at 1.3GHz. The chipset is mated to 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage.

The Micromax Bharat 2 Ultra has a 2MP rear camera and a 0.3MP front-facing camera. Sadly, this device still runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out of the box and is backed by a 1300mAh battery. These are the same specifications of the Micromax Bharat 2 smartphone, which Micromax sold in millions.
