BSNL, the state-run telco has announced the revision of one of its popular 3G data combo plan, the 3G data combo STV 3,099 by offering more data at the same price. According to the media reports, the Rs. 3,099 3G prepaid data combo voucher now offers unlimited voice calls to any network even while in roaming along with an increase in data limit to 20GB in all its circles. Post the limit, subscribers will be charged at 3p/10kb. Also, BSNL is offering free 3,000 local/national SMS to any network in India. The validity though remains the same, i.e. 30 days from the date of activation.

To recall, the data combo STV 3099 earlier used to offer 15GB 3G data, unlimited local/STD/roaming calls within the network, and 500 minutes of local/STD/roaming voice calls to other networks.

Currently, the combo STV 3099 is the only plan among the prepaid STVs to offer unlimited free voice calls in roaming.

BSNL apparently also plans to offer double data speeds on select WiMax broadband packs starting this March. According to a report published by KeralaTelecom, BSNL is planning to upgrade the data speed from 512kbps up to 1Mbps for unlimited WiMax packs namely ‘HOWI 825’, ‘HOWI 825A’ (valid for 12 months) and ‘HOWI 825B’ (valid for 24 months).
