Airtel records high 4G and 3G speed on TRAI test: Report

Bharti Airtel tops the 4G and 3G speed test, according to a report by Telecom Lead. The graph released by the report (sourced to TRAI) shows that the telecom operator has recorded an average 4G download speed of 8.4Mbps. Jio follows Airtel at 8.1Mbps download speed.

In terms of other service providers, Vodafone India occupied the third position with an average download speed of 7.3Mbps. Idea Cellular and Reliance Communications stood at third rank showing an average speed of 6.8Mbps and 5.8Mbps respectively.

The average data speed is calculated using the data samples from various consumers of the TSPs on a crowd-sourcing basis during the speed test initiated by them.

The aforementioned data, showed by the report, seems to be fluctuating at the time of writing this news.

Considering the upload speed, Vodafone scored the highest with 4Mbps speed on its 4G network. Idea Cellular followed the trail with 3.9Mbps. Bharti Airtel, on the other hand, recorded a 3.3Mbps upload speed, followed by Reliance Jio with 2.5Mbps. Reliance Communications registered a speed of 2Mbps.

3G Speed in India

Under the 3G download speed, Airtel lead the chart with 3.8Mbps, followed by Vodafone holding the second position with 3.1Mbps. Idea Cellular registered a 2.7Mbps and Cellone marked a 2.3Mbps. Aircel, Reliance, and MTNL were the last three, showcasing 2.3Mbps, 1.7Mbps, and 1.2Mbps respectively.

In terms of 3G upload speed, Airtel leads the array with 1.3Mbps, Vodafone with 1.1Mbps, and Idea Cellular with 1Mbps. CellOne and Aircel recorded 0.8Mbps, whereas RCom registered a speed of 0.6Mbps. MTNL reported the least speed of around 0.3Mbps.
