The Lenovo Phab 2 Pro has been made in partnership with Google, and it will be the first ever phone to come with AR and VR technology to sense and project surroundings.

To refresh, at the Lenovo Tech World 2016 in San Francisco, Lenovo had unveiled the Phab 2 Pro with Google’s Tango augmented reality technology. Lenovo Phab 2 Pro comes with a 16MP wide-angle rear camera clubbed with special depth-sensing, which enables it to map out the physical surroundings or project virtual effects in a real-world space. In simple terms, it senses the size of the room or the presence of other people.

At the tech world event, Lenovo demonstrated the Tango technology with a variety of apps, such as VR shooting games, educational app, etc. If Tango fulfills its promise, using Phab2 Pro, customers will be able to download the digital models of coffee tables to see how they would look like in their actual room. Or, it can display information about an artist or a scene depicted in a painting as you stroll through a museum.

According to Lenovo, the device will come loaded with about 25 apps ranging from games to location-based apps to utilities in an exclusive app store and it expects 100 apps to be available by the end of the year. Although Lenovo brought another milestone to the smartphone market, the technology is in its early stage of development. Alongside Tango technology, Lenovo Phab 2 Pro features a whopping 6.4-inch quad HD display and a metal construction. The device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 652 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. Fingerprint scanner, 4000mAh battery, 16MP cam, etc. are the other specs.

Lenovo Phab 2 Pro is expected to come with a price tag of $500 (approx. Rs. 33,300) in the U.S. by August.
