Samsung launches Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) with Android 6.0 Marshmallow

Samsung has finally come up with a 2016 edition of the Galaxy Tab A. The device is announced in Germany and other European regions for now. Samsung has not revealed its global availability timeline yet.

The Galaxy Tab 10.1 (2016) will be available in Wi-Fi and LTE variants priced at EUR 289 (approx. Rs. 22,000) and EUR 349 (approx. Rs. 26,500) respectively. In terms of specifications both the variants are same except for the SIM card slot, which is present on one variant.

The device comes with a 10.1-inch WUXGA TFT display with a resolution of 1920x1200 pixels. It is powered by a 1.6GHz octa-core Exynos chipset clubbed with 2GB of RAM. It bears 16GB of internal storage (expandable up to 200GB). One of the key features of the device is that it runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It the imaging departments, it sports an 8-megapixel primary autofocus camera with LED flash and f/1.9 aperture. There is also a 2-megapixel selfie snapper with a f/2.2 aperture on board.

On the connectivity front, it supports 4G/Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, Glonass, and Micro-USB. It is backed by a 7300mAh battery, measures 254.2x155.3x8.2mm and weighs 525 grams.
