Sony is in the process to let go of its "Z" series of smartphones for the latest "X" series. However, the company is still working towards giving software update to the Xperia Z5 smartphone. In its latest move, Sony has rolled out a global Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the Xperia Z5. As of now, the regions that have confirmed the update are India, Thailand, Malaysia, Russia, Algeria, MENA Arabic, Saudi Arabia, and the United States of America.
The update blankets both the variants of the Xperia Z5, the single-SIM E6653 and the dual-SIM E6683 and E6633 models. The firmware version for the update is 32.1.A.1.163, which is presently accessible via Sony PC Companion app. A full-fledged OTA update is expected to start soon. The update also carries the February security patch released by Google.
In accordance with the official changelog, the update brings along a lot of changes. One of the major improvement is app dozing and run-time permissions model. Moreover, other additions are a much-needed update for the default camera app interface; Xperia Messaging with sticker assistance and Direct Share for easy communication.
