IFA 2015: Sony unveils the Xperia Z5, Z5 Premium, and Z5 Compact

IFA 2015 has started and this time around, we are expecting some major launches from Sony. Many rumors have surfaced about Sony’s three new smartphones in the Z series, named as the Sony Xperia Z5, Z5 Premium, and Z5 Compact. Today, the company has finally taken wraps off from the much-talked about devices.

Sony just announced the three new devices, and as per the announcement, the Xperia Z5 features a 5.2-inch 1080p display, Z5 Compact has 4.6-inch 720p display, and the Z5 Premium comes with a larger 5.5-inch 4K UHD display. The Xperia Z5 Premium is dubbed as the first ever smartphone to come with a 4K UHD display at a whopping resolution of 4096 x 2160 pixels. Powering all the three devices is Snapdragon 810 processor paired with 3GB RAM in Z5 and Z5 Premium, and 2GB RAM in Z5 Compact. All of them have 32GB of internal storage space along with a microSD card slot for storage expansion by upto an additional 200GB.

All the three handsets run Android 5.1 Lollipop, and have 32GB of internal storage on-board. They sport 23-megapixel primary cameras with ‘fast autofocus’ technology coupled with focusing speed of 0.03 seconds. These are completely new Exmor RS sensors with “advanced image stabilisation technology” and 4K video recording abilities. Sony executives have also claimed that all the three smartphones will be equipped with exceptional low-light performance.
