Micromax has come up with yet another affordable tablet err phablet, named as Fantabulet F666. It comes with a 6.98-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) IPS display, offering a pixel density of 210 ppi. Micromax is marketing the device as ‘phablet’, but with a display size like that, we are doubting whether to call it a phablet or not. The device measures 99.8 x 190 x 9.7 mm and weighs 265 grams, and is touted by the company to be ideal for single-hand operations. It is priced at Rs. 7,499, and will be available in Chrome Gold option, exclusively via Flipkart.
This dual-SIM device runs Android 5.0 Lollipop, and offers connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and 2.0 micro-USB port. Under the hood, the device is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT8382W/M processor clubbed with 1GB of RAM. The Canvas Fantabulet houses 8GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. Moreover, in the audio department, the Fantabulet F666 features Dual-Box speakers with DTS sound technology.
Commenting on the launch, Vikas Jain, Co-Founder, Micromax Informatics, said, “We ignited the phablet category with the launch of Canvas range of devices which proved to be extremely popular among the consumers. With the launch of Canvas Fantabulet we are yet again pioneering a new category that will change the way people use smartphones making it their first choice for consumption and productivity needs. The launch comes at the most appropriate time when mobile internet is on the rise and there has been persistent increase in demand for larger screens and video consumption.”
