In a move that was initiated by Videocon d2h, it seems other DTH operators are following suit. Tata sky recently sent out SMS to its subscribers informing them of the tariff revision.

The message read 'Tata Sky base pack charge on your account has been revised to Rs. 250 per month. Select add on channels and packs will also undergo price revision. Press help on your remote for details.' This is in line with the industry norms, last month Videocon had revised the rates of its base packs by Rs.12 to 23 giving Tata sky some head room to hike its own tariff.

Tata sky is currently leading the DTH sector with the maximum number of 'Industry firsts' and constant innovation. Since its commercial launch in 2006 the operator has been the first to launch personal video recorder and 4K set top box, last month the company released a path redefining invention in the form of Tata Sky Transfer set top box which allows subscribers to wirelessly transfer the recorded content from the set top box to smartphones and tablets without consuming any data.
