Samsung unveils affordable 4G enabled Galaxy J2 in India, at a price tag of Rs. 8,490

Samsung officially took the wraps off the Galaxy J2 in India, which is its first budget-friendly 4G smartphone for India. The smartphone comes with a new Ultra Data Saving mode, which is powered by Opera Max that allows users to enable and block apps from using mobile data. The mode is capable of saving up to 50% of data, and it also turns off unwanted app operations and in turn exempts up to 11% of RAM.

The Samsung Galaxy J2 features a metallic finish on the sides and has faux leather covering on the rear. Interestingly, the device has been manufactured at Samsung’s Indian R&D facility. The device comes with a 4.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels, and is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core Exynos 3475 processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. There is 8GB of internal storage onboard, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card. It sports a 5-megapixel autofocus primary camera with LED flash, along with a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.

It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop, and supports connectivity options such as dual-SIM, 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, and is backed by a 2000mAh battery. The phone will be available in White, Black, and Gold color options, at a price tag of Rs. 8,490 from September 21 onwards all over India.
