Networking giant, Cisco said that SITI Cable has selected Cisco DOCSIS 3.0 technology for the introduction of next-generation cable broadband services in India.
Using DOCSIS 3.0 technology, SITI Cable will be offering its subscribers internet speed of up to 100 Mbps, as well as high speed data networks and access to more content online compared with that offered by existing telecom internet service providers (ISPs).
“DOCSIS 3.0 is a key component of the Cisco IP next generation network (NGN) architecture. It can deliver download speeds of up to 300 Mbps per subscriber compared with 24 Mbps for the prevalent ADSL2+ technology. DOCSIS 3.0 also increases the upload capacity up to 100 Mbps compared with 1 Mbps provided by ADSL2+, enabling consumers to share content seamlessly and enjoy uninterrupted HD video calls across the globe,” the company said.
