The Samsung Gear Live smartwatch which was announced at the Google I/O 2014 has just been listed on the Indian Google Play Store for Rs 15,900. There is shipping date associated with it but that should be available soon too. A point worth mentioning is that it costs more than the LG G Watch in India whereas in US it is comparatively cheaper.

Samsung Gear Live Specifications

  • 1.63 inches SuperAMOLED display, 320 x 320 pixels
  • 1.2 GHz processor, 512MB RAM
  • 4GB internal storage
  • Android Wear OS
  • Water-resistant and dust-proof
  • Bluetooth 4.0 LE
  • USB (pogo pin) for connectivity
  • 300 mAh battery which Samsung claims will last you a day
  • Compatible with devices with Android 4.3 and above

The Gear Live will come only in Black and unlike other Gear smartwatches, it will be compatible with devices from other manufacturers too. It looks better than the LG counterpart but has a smaller battery and is pricier too. But all these are quite good signs for the Indian market as Google is bringing devices to us pretty much at the same time as their global roll out begins and in some cases, even before that.
