More details about OnePlus One’s camera, hardware and customisation options surface online

OnePlus is a new smartphone brand by a former top employee of Oppo. The device is set to be announced on 23 April but more details about their first smartphone, OnePlus One have surfaced online. Information about its hardware internals, camera samples and customisation options are now available.

The OnePlus One will come with a 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM and a 5.5 inch full HD display (401 ppi) from JDI. It will be available in 16GB or 64GB variants. It uses a  f/2.0 13MP camera sensor (IMX214) from Sony with 6 element lens which can record 4K videos. Software wise, it will come with Android 4.4 based CyanogenMod 11S with some customisations for the OnePlus One. It measures 152.9mm long, 75.9mm wide and 8.9mm thin while weighing 160 grams. It will come with a 3100 mAh battery.

But one of the most interesting fact about the OnePlus One is that it will offer Moto X like customisations with its StyleSwap back covers with options for wooden, leather and denim trims in addition to the cool black and dotted white ones.

The 'S' moniker in the CyanogenMod 11S shows that it is customised for this particular device with custom themes, luncher, icons and lock screen. it comes with extremely clean design and a lot of customisation options. Other brands should learn from this and give users better options as well as performance.

OnePlus One will be available in 16 countries at first with a price tag of less than $400/€350. They have proposed a unique system for buying the device with an invite only system so that buyers can be sure that they get the device. Original buyers can send invites to their friends and family members. Invites can also be acquired from company's forums and contests.
