ZTE is gearing to unveil yet another high-specced device with the name ‘Axon’. The company’s Nubia range of devices is already popular and with the new upcoming Axon, ZTE is trying to increase its market base around the world.

Not many details are let out by the company yet, it has started teasing Axon with 4GB of RAM, which brings it under the segment of few phones with such large memory. It is not long ago when Asus launched the Zenfone 2 with 4GB of RAM, it is worth noting that flagships such as HTC One M9 and Galaxy S6 boast just 3GB of RAM.

ZTE AxonTaking a cue from HTC devices in such range, the Axon will also feature dual-lens camera paired with dual-LED flash. Dual lens camera provides much better clicks than single lens. The camera bundled with Axon is able to render 4K videos and the front camera comes with ’smile-to-click’ feature, which takes photo whenever user smiles. The device is also capable of Hi-Fi audio playback through its dual microphones, which is touted by the company as the “best in noise suppression technology".

The device will be available in three colors, Ion Gold, Chromium Silver and Phthalo Blue. It will have a metallic body with speaker grills at the top and bottom (reminds us of HTC BoomSound Speakers). The pricing has not been revealed yet, however the rules and regulations section of contest page on the website does provide the approx retail price of $450 (around Rs. 28,600). It will debut in the U.S. next month and thereafter, we hope it will be announced in other regions as well, including India.

Axon’s teaser page also promises bigger battery in the device, the page states “a large battery for all-around high performance under the hood.” The teaser page also mentions ‘lightning-fast processor’ so we hope the smartphone to deliver great processing speed.
