Xiaomi Redmi 7A is now official and it might come to the Indian market next month. With the Redmi 7A, Xiaomi is upping the ante as the phone offers powerful specifications for the asking price. For the first time, Xiaomi has used a Snapdragon 430 series chipset on a low-end smartphone. The Redmi 6A comes with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC clubbed with up to 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. Notably, the phone also ships with a beefy 4000mAh battery which is also a first on a Redmi A series phone. Other key features of the Redmi 7A include HD+ display, Android 9 Pie software and Dual 4G support. The Redmi 7A succeeds the Redmi 6A handset both in China and the Indian market.

Xiaomi Redmi 7A: Specifications and Features
The display on the Redmi 7A remains unchanged compared to the Redmi 6A as it’s the same 5.45-inch HD+ panel with a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels. Underneath, Xiaomi has added the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC which we earlier saw on the Nokia 4.2 launched in India for Rs 10,990. The phone comes in two versions with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, and the 3GB RAM variant comes paired with 32GB of internal storage. There’s a dedicated microSD card slot with storage expansion up to 256GB.
The Redmi 7A sports a 13MP rear-facing camera which has support for PDAF, LED flash and AI scene detection camera feature. Frontal, there’s a 5MP shooter with AI Face Unlock functionality and AI Beautify camera app feature. The handset MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie out of the box. With the Redmi 7A, Xiaomi has added a new app to MIUI 10, which is known as ‘Family Guardian.’ This app allows users to set restrictions to their children such as how many websites they can visit, limit the usage of phone and SOS Emergency.
