Looks like Xiaomi is trying to root big in India ahead of its latest flagship, the Xiaomi Mi 5, launch in the country. In the latest move, Xioami and HCL have formed a partnership to provide after sale service support for Mi smartphones in India. HCL Care services will open exclusive Experience Service Centres (ESCs) for Xiaomi in 28 cities in India. These cities include all Tier-I cities of North and East India along with major Tier-II cities.

Commenting on the partnership, Sharad Talwar, Head of Consumer Services at HCL Services, said,"We are delighted to strengthen our association with Xiaomi by introducing Exclusive Service Centres for their leading-edge phones. We are confident that these state-of-the-art service centres will enable Xiaomi to cater to the Indian markets more effectively and efficiently,"

The collaboration is an outcome of Xiaomi's plan to enhance its presence in the Indian smartphone market and also to enrich user experience. Through these Experience Service Centres (ESCs), Xiaomi strives to present users with a one-stop shop for services, accessories and insurance requirements. HCL revealed that it has already approved 37 out of the planned 40 ESCs, and has also hired a workforce of 250 people to work on the project.

Moreover, HCL and Xiaomi expect to manage over 43,000 customer calls from these ESCs, within the coming two years. HCL asserts that these ESCs are cost efficient, easy and have a reliable service model to compliment with a company like Xiaomi to cater end user.

Liu Tao, Head of After Sales at Xiaomi Technology India, said in a press statement,"A key focus for us in 2016 is scaling up our after sales support and this partnership is a step forward in this direction. We are pleased to announce these exclusive service centers with HCL Care and hope that with this partnership will provide an enhanced and localized experience to our customers."
