Wynk Music added Metallica’s music catalog to its library

Wynk Music has updated its music library with Metallica’s entire music catalog, says a release from the company. The customers can thus enjoy the band’s songs, including the new album “Hardwired... To Self-Destruct”. Metallica’s new album “Hardwired... To Self-Destruct” is the first release from the band in eight years.

“We are delighted to bring Metallica’s full catalog including its much anticipated latest release, on Wynk Music. Whether it is introducing the latest release of international music legends or music from local artists – we will continue to focus on building the widest and most diverse library of songs to offer a more immersive and personalized experience to our valued customers,” Wynk said.

Wynk Music boasts of three million songs in its library from various genres. Songs from around 12 languages are available on Wynk Music. The service crossed streaming over 25 million songs per day, the highest for a music app in India. It is also said to be the most downloaded music app on Google Play store since December 2015.

The biggest benefit of Wynk Music is that it is ad-free. It has tie-ups with content providers and labels in the industry, providing a good entertainment experience to the people.

In India, Wynk Music was launched in September 2014. In the first four days of the launch, the service crossed one lakh downloads. By February 2015, the service crossed five million app downloads. In June 2015, it also launched a data save mode, enabling users to save their data consumption on the smartphones. By November 2015, it crossed 12 million app downloads.

Wynk Music also introduced MP3 player function and subsequently launched a Wynk Music mobile site. In September 2016, it crossed the milestone of 20 million songs played in a day.
