Vodafone revises 3G/4G data packs in Kerala, reduces data benefits

Vodafone India, has revised its 3G/4G prepaid data packs by reducing the available benefit in the Kerala circle. Vodafone had launched the 3G/4G service on its network in Kerala last month, and upgraded all 3G packs to offer 4G speeds.


The data benefit available for Rs. 29 data pack has been reduced to 90MB from existing 120MB. Similarly, Rs. 49 data pack has been revised to offer 150MB instead of 200MB earlier. The Rs. 104 data pack benefit has been reduced to 250MB from earlier 300MB and Rs. 149 data pack now offers 375MB of data instead of 500MB.

The latest move from Vodafone is quite unexpected as it is battling with Airtel and Idea in the Kerala circle with its 4G services. The competition in the circle went crazy after the launch of 4G service by all three operators. Both, Idea and Airtel, are already offering double data on all 4G recharges above 1GB. However, Vodafone has not announced any special offer for its 4G service.

The shameless aircel has also decreased the 3G prepaid benefits in Tamilnadu :

Rs.14 validity reduced, all reduced data with more validity has been cancelled. Rs.103 data pack with 500 MB 28 days validity is reduced to 14 days. Bloddie shit.

Better use wired broadband.


A business tactic to make their 1GB and above packs more attractive and choosing ones!!! Vodafone want to discourage customers choosing packs less than 1GB,as I think people who chooses less than 1GB mainly use it for instant messaging purposes or facebook browsing,a practise that brings unfavourable conditions to Vodafone.If BSNL follow this kind of tactics,definitely they will get some higher revenue from data segment and it will helps in ensuring an improved quality of servicesfor primary customers like me(I can now feel the congestion in BSNL Kerala network 🙁 ).
