Lately, there has been a stream of mini and add-on packs in the DTH and cable industry. A lot of broadcasters along with DTH and cable TV providers are coming with small, affordable channel packs which include only a handful of channels which the viewers might enjoy. While some of these mini or add-on packs are divided by languages, others have been curated based on genres. One of the biggest service providers in the industry which has listed many such packs is Tata Sky. The provider has also recently introduced two new broadcaster channel packs on its platform which include the Sony Happy India South B and the Turner Family HD pack.

New Broadcaster Packs on Tata Sky

The MRP of the Sony Happy India South B pack is Rs 25, and after the taxes, the rental of this plan comes out to be Rs 29.5 The channel pack consists of 6 SD channels which include AXN, Sony Pix, Sony BBC Earth, Sony Yay, Sony Six and Sony Ten 1. Tata Sky Launched 13 New Mini HD Channel Packs

Last, when we reported about Tata Sky’s latest channel packs, the operator had launched a collection of HD add-on packs with prices starting at around Rs 60. It is worth noting that these 13 new HD mini packs by Tata Sky were not in the budget segment and had a price range of up to Rs 200. These new mini packs by Tata Sky included the Tamil Regional HD pack for Rs 164, Tamil Mini HD Pack for Rs 81, Telugu Regional and Mini HD pack for Rs 216 and Rs 90 respectively. Further, more languages in the line-up of these packs included Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi and Bengali. There was also an English Movies HD mini channel bundle launched with these pack which is available with Tata Sky for Rs 162.

You would have already noted that the primary difference between the newly launched broadcaster pack and the previously launched HD packs is in the pricing. While the previous packs were in the higher price range, the new packs are much more affordable. It seems that every broadcaster is now really focusing on expanding its reach for the viewership. Recently, the DTH operator had also announced its reduced Multi-TV connection charges thus giving relief to the subscribers of multiple connections.
