Reliance Jio to Use Viom Networks’ Telecom-Tower Infrastructure

Reliance JIO Infocomm Logo_bigReliance Jio Reliance Jio will launch its services across India using telecom-tower infrastructure provided by Viom Networks. Under a Master Services Agreement, Reliance Jio will use Viom Networks’ Pan India Passive telecom infrastructure having a footprint of over 42,000 telecom towers.

Reliance Jio holds a pan-India Unified License and is currently building a network to offer next generation high-speed data services. The company believes that the Indian market is highly underserviced. There’s thus a deep demand undercurrent for reliable (4th generation) high speed internet connectivity, rich communication services, and various digital services on pan-India basis in key domains such as education, healthcare, security, financial services, government citizen interfaces and entertainment.

“From a conventional tower company, we are transforming ourselves as an innovation-driven, data-centric infra solutions provider,” said Syed Safawi, CEO, Viom Networks. We are delighted to partner with Reliance jio and offer our countrywide network infrastructure. Our consistent delivery of high network up time, on-time reliable project delivery capability, and optimal operation and a maintenance cost offer a great value package.”

Reliance Jio is part of the “Bay Of Bengal Gateway” Cable System, planned to provide connectivity between South East Asia, South Asia and the Middle East, and also to Europe, Africa and to the Far East Asia through interconnections with other existing and newly built cable systems landing in India, the Middle East and Far East Asia.

From less than 700 professionals a year back, the RJIL Jio team has grown rapidly to a national footprint of over 3,000 professionals today.

*Bro Reliance Jio is gonna deploy LTE in band 40(2300 mhz) on a Pan-India Basis. But the good news is that in certain South Indian States as well as eastern and western states Reliance Jio has won 1800 mhz spectrum which comes under Band 3 and is reportedly supported by Nokia Lumias. In order to know if Reliance Jio has won 1800 mhz or Band 3 LTE spectrum in your circle you could refer to the February 2014 spectrum auction results.

*Although I cannot guarantee you that Indian Lumia models will support LTE.
