Reliance has expanded its Pro 3 CDMA EVDO Rev B service to more circles. Pro 3 services are now available in Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, Delhi, UP West, West Bengal (incl Kolkatta), Rajasthan, Gujarat & Kerala.
Reliance Pro 3 service offers speed up to 14.7Mbps on CDMA EVDO Rev B network by using multiple carrier frequencies. The speed is much higher than Rev B service from competitors like Tata Photon Max with 6.2Mbps and MTS Ultra with 9.8Mbps. Initially the service was only available in Chennai and Bangalore has now been expanded to other circles. With this expansion, Reliance has ensured to bring Pro 3 service to circles where it does not have a 3G spectrum.
Reliance uses ZTE-AC2791 USB data card with 14.7Mbps download and 5.4Mbps upload speed for Pro 3 service. This dongle is also backward compatible with Rev A network. Even though Reliance claims 14.7Mbps speed, real world experience falls much short of this.
