After a slew of leaks and reports, Oppo has finally unveiled its much awaited Oppo R9 and R9 Plus smartphones, in China. Both the devices will be available in Rose Gold and Golden color options. The Oppo R9 is priced at 2,799 Yuan (around Rs. 29,000), while the OPPO R9 Plus will retail at 3,299 Yuan (around Rs. 34,000). As of now, the Oppo R9 will be up for sale in China on March 24, whereas the R9 Plus will go on sale on April 12. Oppo has not revealed any info regarding the devices' global availability.
The Oppo R9 features a 5.5-inch 1080p display with 77.68% screen-to-body ratio that gives it an almost bezel-less outlook. The phone is powered by a 2GHz octa-Core MediaTek Helio X10 processor clubbed with 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage (expandable up to 128GB). It sports 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, PDAF, and a 16-megapixel selfie camera. On the other hand, the Oppo R9 Plus comes with similar specs, but it features a 6-inch 1080p display, and is powered by a 1.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 (MSM8976) processor, a 16-megapixel rear and front camera with Sony IMX298 sensor. Both the devices feature a fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button, and run Android 5.1 Lollipop with ColorOS 3.0 skinned on top.
The Oppo R9 is backed by a 2,850mAh battery with VOOC Flash Charge technology, which is touted to deliver 2 hours of talk time within 5 minutes of charge. While the R9 Plus is fueled by a 4,120mAh battery with VOOC Flash Charge.
