OnePlus has officially confirmed that it’s discontinuing the software support for the OnePlus 2 globally, meaning they won’t release the Android Nougat update to the 2015 flagship phone. The owners of the OnePlus 2 have been asking for the Android Nougat update since a long time, but unfortunately, OnePlus did not respond to the queries.

Moreover, users have created a campaign as well on the OnePlus forums demanding the company for the newest OS update. But that did not go their way as well. OnePlus 2 also has a partner- the OnePlus X, which did not receive the software update.
But the company did not release any official statement about the OnePlus X’ software support discontinuation. Also, the OnePlus X was released in December 2015, and the stipulated time of 18-month software support period is due to be completed for the OnePlus X. So, let’s hope for a major upgrade till the period ends.
OnePlus was initially testing the Android Nougat OS in the OnePlus 2 as it was spotted on a benchmark site last month. Everyone expected the company would roll out the upgrade by the end of May. Nevertheless, this news will disappoint the OnePlus 2 users in masses.

“Thank you for reaching OnePlus Customer support. This is Alex from OnePlus. We greatly appreciate your time and effort in reaching out to us. Your concern is of utmost importance, and I will be helping you out with your ticket. As much as we would like to give the latest update on the OnePlus 2, we’ve discontinued updates for dated devices. But we will continue to support the limited warranty for current users and provide updates and support the best way we can even for OnePlus 2 users,” OnePlus’s official statement.
