Amongst the 520 enterprises that were surveyed Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) has secured second position after a private telecom group (TTSL & Tata Communications) in overall satisfaction in enterprise communication services.

MTNL-V-DThe focus of this survey was to gauge satisfaction level of large and medium enterprises with respect to communication services. The 520 large and medium companies that were surveyed covered all types of services – ISDN, VSAT,domestic leased lines, IPLC, VPN, IP-centrex, mobile application and others.

Who prefers MTNL?
Here in Navi Mumbai, when I had MTNL, I used to get range from the BTS 3 kms away.. And that too with signal strength of 15-20% at the window.. When I go to ground floor.. The phone is out of coverage area.. If I go further 200 meters (away from BTS).. Then the range is completely gone even in open space.. I ported out of MTNL after 91st day of porting in..

Every network has its weak spots. Here in Mumbai, I could show you numerous locations that have zero or very poor coverage wrt Airtel & Vodafone (I could literally point out places), but full strength (-57 to -60dBm) on mtnl. It just happens that you seem to live in an mtnl no coverage area 🙂 Moreover, MTNL’s billing is right on the dot; and then there are other things like no automated activation of unnecessary services (as I type this, another 30 bucks seem to have been deducted by airtel for some useless VAS), no repeated reminders to pay the… Read more »

If I get MTNL signals like that of Airtel and Vodafone, I’m ready to switch to MTNL.. Just a fact, MTNL hasn’t improved their coverage here since last 10 years..

Neither have Airtel and Vodafone in the places I’m talking about. And as I said, if a network doesn’t work for you, switch to something else. MTNL coverage sucks at your place, agreed 🙂

Same here with BSNL. Tower 100 m away, phone shows full signal. When calls come in signal drops down to 1,2,4,1 and hear lots of disturbances in voice. Idea BTS 1 Km away, good voice quality. Same with Vodafone. Airtel BTS almost 2-2.5 Km away, still get good signal.

Worst signal- Aircel.

At least, they must extend their footprints outside Delhi and Mumbai but good to see they are serving Mauritius too.

Totally agree with @just_another_user, at one of my college professor’s place in I.C colony, only MTNL, Docomo, Idea and loop work with full signal strength whereas Vodafone, Airtel, Reliance, Airtel go on “No Service” mode as soon as one enters the house.

In fact the places wer biggies dont have coverage Mtnl and others have full coverage :p
