Idea and Airtel gets new MSC codes 9133 and 8942 series for Andhra and West Bengal

DOT has assigned new MSC codes for Idea cellular in Andhra Pradesh telecom circle and Airtel in West Bengal telecom circle.

Idea has been assigned MSC code 9133 which is part of 9100 series in Andhra Pradesh LSA. While Airtel has been assigned 8942 series which include 89420, 89428, 89429, 89440, 89448, 89449, 89450, 89455, 89458 & 89459 in West Bengal LSA.

As we reported earlier DoT Licensing wing has given the green signal for opening of number series 791 and 792 for Videocon services. Attached below is the list of Licensee and revised MSC code for the respective service areas.

MSC codes allocation is the process followed by DOT to assign new number series for the operators. As the number of mobile subscribers in the country grow, DOT has to find new series to be used by operators.
