The latest one to enter the arena is a metal-clad smartphone named as the Gionee S6, for a price of Rs. 19,999. Even though the device is still tagged under the ‘coming soon’ category on its official site, however, Flipkart has listed the phone with its pricing and it is up for sale.Gionee S6 launched in India

The Gionee S6 is a part of company’s S line-up of smartphones, treading the same path as other S series phones such as S5.5, this one features a sleek design. It weighs 147 grams, and measures 151.9mm x 74.6mm x 4-6.9mm, which is slightly thicker than the S5.5. This one packs in better specifications and features than the S5.5. It features a 5.5-inch 720p super AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Powering the Gionee S6 is a 1.3GHz MediaTek octa-core MT6753 processor paired with 3GB of RAM. It has 32GB internal storage, which is further expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.

It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with Gionee’s in-house Amigo 3.1 OS on top. In the imaging department, the phone sports 13-megapixel primary camera with LED Flash, along with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It supports connectivity options such as Hybrid dual-SIM (Micro+Nano), 4G LTE (with Band 40 and VoLTE), 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, USB Type-C 2.0 Port, GPS/AGPS, and USB OTG. The phone is backed by a 3,150mAh battery, and will be available in Gold, Rose Gold, and Silver color variants.

Going by the specifications, the Gionee S6 seems to rival the Acer Liquid Z630s. However, the Acer Liquid Z630s comes with a bigger battery and 8MP primary and front-facing cameras, which might be a winning factor for the Gionee S6.
