Expanding Fiber Optic Coverage
During the first half of 2023, Elisa said it focused on enhancing the 5G network coverage and expanded its fibre optic network in Ostrobothnia, Central Ostrobothnia, and South Ostrobothnia, resulting in improved connectivity for users.
Elisa’s fibre network already covers more than one million properties nationwide. The telco said it plans to invest 200 million euros in expanding its fibre optic network in Finland.
Mobile Network Usage During Summer
According to Elisa, during the summer, the importance of the mobile network takes centre stage, with Kaskinen being the summeriest municipality in Ostrobothnia, Ahtari in Southern Ostrobothnia, and Lestijarvi in Central Ostrobothnia.
As Finns flock to cabins, campsites, and festivals during the summer months, the demand for mobile network services in rural municipalities surges.
