According to the official release, the partnership with PT IDMarco Digital Solusi, a subsidiary of Salim Group, aims to create a distributed Internet Exchange (IX) spanning multiple data centres in Jakarta. Seamless Integration with DE-CIX Ecosystem
DE-CIX Jakarta will be seamlessly integrated into the existing DE-CIX ecosystem, covering six metro markets, including Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, Brunei, and Manila, according to DE-CIX.
With this expansion, DE-CIX aims to support the ongoing transformation of content and traffic localization in the ASEAN region. While Singapore and Hong Kong hubs will remain essential, DE-CIX expects significant growth in markets like Jakarta.
DE-CIX stated, “Our integrated solution will facilitate the localization of content and traffic, making it more efficient for networks in Indonesia. With the arrival of DE-CIX Apollon in Jakarta, all networks in the country are invited to take advantage of DE-CIX’s best-in-class platform.”
The joint venture will directly connect DE-CIX Jakarta to DE-CIX Singapore, bolstering the Southeast Asian interconnection ecosystem. This will offer interconnection services for network providers, cloud service providers, and enterprises backed by industry-leading Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
