BSNL revises prepaid 3G data packs, reduces validity

BSNL has announced revision of its 3G prepaid data packs by reducing validity. The new tariff will come into effect from 01-12-2015 on pan India basis.

The validity of data STV 17 has been reduced to 1 day from existing 2 days. At the same time free data usage has been increased marginally to 110MB from existing 90 MB.  BSNL has also reduced validity of data STV 39 and STV 56 to 5 days and 27 days respectively. To fill the gap between STV 17 and STV 39, BSNL has introduced new data pack STV 29 which comes with 150MB bundled usage and 3 days validity.

The revision is in line with BSNL’s strategy of reducing validity of data STV to hike cost of data service. Recently BSNL had reduced validity of popular Rs.68 1GB 3G voucher Pan India.

Nowadays from past 2 months I am facing strange issues in BSNL. Sometimes the call is connected but I cant hear anything from the other person nor he/she can hear me. I have to disconnect the call and dial again to talk. Is anyone facing similar issues?

Quite natural. In my two bsnl sims I often face this problem. Though it has become less in recent times.

I tried giving complaint on bsnl website about call muting but after filling the form the page doesn’t go forward. So no dice there.
From my past interaction with csc r.t nagar bangalore or the telephone help executives i don’t think they will solve it.

Yeah me facing it. The phenomena which you mentioned is called ‘call muting’. You can read that i have mentioned the same below. Here in Bangalore bsnl 3g gives comparatively good speed but the problem is the indoor call quality. About 75% of my indoor calls get automatically muted just after initiating the call or during the call and the only way i can speak with the other person is by disconnecting and calling back. The other problem is during rain the network gets busy and reaching my number gets difficult.Bsnl is my primary number for incoming calls (aircel is… Read more »

Talking about Tamilnadu circle :

I am facing the same issue from :
> Aircel to airtel mobile
> BSNL landline to airtel and aircel mobile

Outgoung calls from BSNL mobile are clear. No problem.

In my company I am getting a very good corporate connection from Vodafone but the problem is we have more than 1000 employees so the network of Idea, Vodafone and Airtel gets jammed. Data on 2G or 3G becomes unusable between 2 to 7 in afternoon. So I had to port into BSNL. BSNL 3g also is unsuable between this time but 2G is working fine for whatsapp messages. Lot of them have complained in Vodafone but no steps are taken.

Sahil, you can try a Videocon connection.
Yes, there are talks about its merger with Idea and all, but that should take some time as of now.
I have been using its 2G in Ahmedabad, it’s on par with Idea and Vodafone in terms of speed and connectivity. Coverage is not that good, but its similar to that of Docomo. You can give it a try as your secondary number.
