BSNL Kerala is migrating GSM prepaid Mobile Connections to Trichy based new intelligent network. The first phase of migration was completed on 16-12-2014 and 3.4 Lakh numbers were migrated.
Due to migration USSD codes and SMS short codes for STV activation has been changed. The current number 53733 has been changed to 123. Prepaid STV balance enquiry short code will be *124*2#. New self-care USSD portal is now available on *124# for BSNL Kerala subscribers. Data carry forward facility has also changed. Data is only carry forwarded if recharged with same data plan.
BSNL had earned Rs 396.80 crore in profit in Kerala during 2013-14 making it the highest earning circle in India. As per reports, BSNL was having frequent disruption in its network due to problems with current intelligent network. The new Trichy based intelligent network will enable BSNL to offer better service to its subscribers in Kerala.
