Prepaid Plans

Airtel and Vodafone Idea happens to be two of the most renowned telecom operators of India. The telcos are known for their range of prepaid and postpaid plans. Even after the private telecom operators have introduced tariff hikes and changes in the prepaid structure, there are affordable prepaid plans available for subscribers. If you are not aware, Airtel discontinued the Rs 49 prepaid plan in lieu of asking users to opt for the Rs 79 prepaid plan. Similarly, Vodafone Idea has discontinued the entry-level Rs 49 prepaid plan. In this article, we will look at a similar priced prepaid plan offered by Airtel and Vodafone Idea.

Bharti Airtel Rs 129 Prepaid Plan

Airtel has been making changes in its prepaid and postpaid structure recently to hike the ARPU and elevate the financial position of the company. Airtel Rs 129 prepaid plan offers data and voice benefits to users who wish for an affordable prepaid plan. Under the plan, Airtel offers 1GB of internet data for 24 days. Apart from this, users also get truly unlimited calling benefits and 300 SMS. Once the SMS limit is reached, Airtel will charge Rs 1 for local and Rs 1.5 STD per SMS. As for additional benefits, Airtel offers 30 days free trial of Amazon Prime Video, free hello tunes, Wynk music subscription. Not only this but, users will get access to Airtel Xstream.

Vodafone Idea (Vi) Rs 129 Prepaid Plan

Vodafone Idea Rs 129 prepaid plan overpowers the offering of Airtel in Rs 129 prepaid plan. Under the plan, subscribers get 2GB of internet data along with truly unlimited calling benefits. The service validity of the prepaid plan is 24 days which is similar to Airtel. 300 SMS for the entire validity period is also included in the plan. Apart from data, calling, and SMS benefits, Vodafone Idea does not offer any additional streaming benefits. Vodafone Idea 1GB internet data and a truly unlimited calling plan are available for Rs 109. However, the service validity of the prepaid plan is 20 days, and no outgoing SMS facility is included in the prepaid plan.

If we compare the similar offering, Vodafone Idea offers extra data at the same price. Since the validity of the prepaid plans is the same, the additional 1GB of data offered by Vodafone Idea can be crucial for subscribers for work or entertainment needs. However, Airtel wins the race in terms of additional benefits. While Airtel offers Airtel Xstream, hello tunes and Wynk Music subscription, there are no additional benefits available in the prepaid plan offered by Vodafone Idea.
