Like we reported on Sunday, Airtel has officially announced the launch of its VoLTE services in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana circle. Airtel has been testing VoLTE in major parts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for quite some time now, and from now, Airtel customers with a supported 4G handset can now enjoy HD voice calls through VoLTE.

Customers can call any mobile, landline network using Airtel VoLTE. There will be no additional data charges for VoLTE as the calls will be billed as per existing plan or data pack benefits.
Venkatesh Vijayraghavan, Chief Executive Officer, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, Bharti Airtel said, “Having built a world-class 4G network across the two geographies, we are delighted to roll out Airtel VoLTE for our customers. With the increasing penetration of VoLTE enabled smartphones in the market, Airtel customers can add to their calling experience to go with high-speed data on India’s best smartphone network.”
Airtel also released the supported list of smartphones with which users can enjoy VoLTE services in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana. The official website of Airtel says that Xiaomi smartphones with Airtel VoLTE support are Redmi Note 4, Mi Max, and Mi 5. However, in the newly announced regions, Airtel VoLTE will be supported only on Redmi Note 4, which is also India’s best selling smartphone.
The upcoming OnePlus 5T will support Airtel VoLTE right out of the box, and the company recently rolled out support to the OnePlus 5 as well.
