Telkomsel Expands 5G Network to Denpasar and Badung Cities in Bali
Indonesian telecom operator Telkomsel has announced the expansion of its Hyper 5G network, starting with Denpasar and Badung in Bali. This move aims to enhance digital connectivity in regions known for high internet usage, widespread 5G device adoption, and a strong international tourist presence, Telkomsel said in an official release.

Enhancing Connectivity in Key Bali Regions

The expansion is part of Telkomsel's broader strategy to deliver a comprehensive 5G experience across Indonesia by improving public services, supporting local tourism, and empowering micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), the company said.

"We are focused on enhancing Indonesia's global image by strengthening the strategic position of tourist destinations, supporting local tourism, empowering MSMEs, and improving the efficiency of public services," said Telkomsel.

Telkomsel emphasised its commitment to providing a 5G experience that meets international standards, catering to both local customers and international tourists in Bali.

Deployment Details

In South Bali alone, Telkomsel has deployed 225 Hyper 5G sites, including 67 in Denpasar and 136 in Badung. This deployment ensures continuous connectivity along busy routes such as Kuta-Canggu, Nusa Dua, and Renon-Sanur, the operator said.

Nationwide Rollout Plans

Telkomsel noted that its expansion in Bali marks a milestone in its 5G rollout, in partnership with Huawei as the network solutions provider. The network now covers over 1,000 sites across 56 cities and districts, including industrial zones, residential areas, international airports, the Nusantara Capital City, and top tourist destinations.

Telkomsel said it will continue expanding its 5G coverage nationwide.
