Vodafone India has hiked its tariff by 20% for its postpaid users in Delhi and NCR telecom circle.
Vodafone's postpaid subscribers who opted for per second postpaid plan will now have to pay 1.5 paisa per second (90p/min) for local calls to any other network's phone in Delhi and STD calls to Landline phone any where in India.
While Vodafone to Vodafone local calls and STD calls to mobile phones (GSM/CDMA - 10 Digit) will remain be charged at 1.2paisa per second. Earlier the tariff was 1paisa/Sec and 1.2p/Sec for all local and STD calls to any network (off net and own net) across India.
The Indian telecom industry feels that increase in tariff is most important to sustain in the highly competitive market with almost 13 to 14 mobile service operators in all the telecom circles. According to industry sources, some other leading operators likely to follow the trend.
