India’s smart TV market has witnessed yet another surprising launch as Samy has launched a very cheap 32-inch smart TV based on Android platform. The surprising part about this new release is the price tag of this television which Samy has launched. You would be shocked to know that Samy has launched this 32-inch screen smart television at the MRP of Rs 4,999. However, that is not the complete story; the TV will probably cost you more if you count all the taxes that you will be required to pay. We calculated that for shipping this TV to a place like Noida, the entire affair would set you back by about Rs 7,000 and the costs would be around Rs 8,000 for other cities “all over India”.

Extremely Cheap Price Tag of Samy Smart TV

Another interesting fact about this new launch which has nothing to do with the pricing of this television is the condition on which the TV will be available to you. Samy has made this TV available on their application, and to purchase it, users will their Aadhaar card. Last year, the Supreme Court ruled that private entities will not be able to use Aadhaar number as verification process and given that Samy is a private company, the entire thing has undoubtedly raised some eyebrows, but with a price tag like that for a 32-inch smart TV, Samy is likely to attract more eyes than raise suspicion.

Samy 32-Inch Android Smart TV Specifications

All the talk about the pricing and verification aside, let us take a look at the specifications of this new TV by Samy. The company has claimed that the TV is based on Android TV platform and it will be compatible with all smart apps and services. Speaking of other specifications, the Samy 32-inch smart TV boasts of a 1366 x 768 resolution IPS HD panel and comes powered by a smart TV interface powered by Android 4.4 KitKat. On the audio front, the TV boasts of having a pair of 10W speakers. For connectivity, the TV comes with 2 HDMI as well as 2 USB ports. The weight of the TV has been netted to be around 6Kg, and inside the box, it comes with the wall mount accessories and the smart TV remote.

Now back to the pricing of the Samy smart TV, the company has claimed that the reason for the very cheap price tag is that all the components used in the TV are manufactured locally. The company has also asserted that it fully supports the government’s “Make in India” manufacturing plans. If you are interested in getting your hands on the Samy 32-inch Rs 4,999 TV, then you can do so through the Samy app after authenticating yourself via the Aadhaar number. The company also claims that it has distributors across many states of India, but if you are planning to buy the Samy TV, then we would recommend that take the very cheap price tag of the TV with a pinch of salt as there might be a catch to this deal. If in the future, Samy’s claims stay true and it delivers on its promises then we can see consumers flocking around to get themselves a Samy smart TV.
