Airtel VoLTE Works on 4G

Airtel has a strong 4G presence across Bengal and Sikkim states and it will enable seamless connectivity for VoLTE services, offering customers parallel sessions of continuous voice calling and superfast data. Furthermore, Airtel stated that it has been consistently ramping up its 4G capacity in both the states to serve the fast-growing customer demand for high-speed data.

The best part with Airtel VoLTE is the seamless latching onto the 3G/2G network. For example, in your area, there's no 4G connectivity but you can still make voice calls through the company's established 3G/2G network.

Airtel VoLTE Can Now Be Used in Over 200 4G Smartphones

Just a while back, Airtel announced that it's VoLTE supported device list has surpassed 200 and the list includes popular smartphones such as Realme 2, Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, OnePlus 6 and so on.

Furthermore, Airtel states that all popular 4G smartphones are now shipped with default Airtel VoLTE support. Users of the bestselling 4G smartphones from major brands like Oppo, Vivo, Apple, Samsung, OnePlus, Nokia, Panasonic, Xiaomi, Karbonn and Lava can now converse on the HD quality voice calling offered on Airtel VoLTE.

Sameer Anjaria, CEO, West Bengal & Odisha, Bharti Airtel said, “We are delighted to extend our VoLTE footprint to Bengal and Sikkim, complementing our world-class 4G network, VoLTE will add to customer’s experience and enable them to make the most of their smartphone.”

Airtel VoLTE Service is Free of Cost

Like Jio VoLTE, Airtel VoLTE is also a free service and there will be no additional data charges for VoLTE, and as mentioned above, calls will be billed as per existing plan or pack benefits. In case of non-availability of 4G network, Airtel VoLTE calls automatically fall back on 3G/2G network to ensure that customers continue to stay connected at all times.

How to Enable Airtel VoLTE on Your Smartphone?

Customers can get started on Airtel VoLTE services by following a few quick steps. First of all, users have to check mobile device compatibility by logging onto www.airtel.in/volte. If the device is mentioned on the website, then proceed further. Head over to Settings>Network & Internet>Mobile Network> Turn on VoLTE or Enhanced 4G LTE mode.

Customers with dual-SIM handsets have to ensure that the Airtel 4G USIM has been inserted in the data SIM slot 1 and network mode has been set as 4G/3G/2G (Auto).
