The use of Next Generation Network (NGN) Switches has enabled the development of Fiber broadband assisted by the Optical Fiber Network Technology concept. This new service is capable of providing internet services to the users with up to 100Mbps speed. The prime USP of this service by BSNL is its exclusivity with the public-sector telco and the very high voice quality functionality which will be undistorted and can be established over the connection. Along with that, features like video conferencing bandwidth on demand, video surveillance facility, games and videos on demand, etc. come as an add-on to the service.

The release outlined that the Fiber broadband technology is going to connect users in an even more vibrant and smooth manner by enabling high-speed networking between the users. The users will be able to experience uninterrupted landline network with voice, data and video communications thanks to the new technology which BSNL Puducherry has rolled out.

BSNL is the leading broadband service provider in India with over 12 million subscribers, which is followed by Bharti Airtel. This new service would even increase the broadband subscriber base of the telco.
