Vodafone India, the country' second largest telecom operator with close to 215 million subscribers has today announced the rollout of its Super VoLTE services across Chennai. With the rollout, Chennai has now joined the list of Vodafone VoLTE-enabled circles that also includes Maharashtra and Goa, Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Haryana, Karnataka, UP West and UP East. Vodafone says that the service will be extended across the country in a phased manner over the next few months. Earlier, we reported about Vodafone's VoLTE testing in Chennai circle, and the service is now officially announced. Do make a note that the service is now officially available in Chennai only and not in the rest of Tamil Nadu.

With the Vodafone Super VoLTE service, customers can enjoy HD voice calls along with super fast call connect time. Also, the highlight here is users can consume 4G data even during voice calls. Furthermore, Vodafone VoLTE services are completely free, and the company will not charge anything additional for using the service. But the major letdown for Vodafone at the moment is the lack of VoLTE supported devices.

Announcing the launch of the Vodafone VoLTE service, Mr S Murali, Business Head Tamil Nadu, Vodafone India said, “We have been making significant investments to expand, upgrade and modernise our network to ensure that we provide the finest service experience and seamless connectivity to our valued customers. We are delighted that Vodafone is now launching VoLTE services across Chennai. VoLTE is a step further towards enhancing customer experience and enabling our customers in Chennai explore newer possibilities with their smart devices. We plan to expand our VoLTE footprint across Tamil Nadu over the next few months.”

Vodafone VoLTE service is currently supported across devices from OnePlus, Xiaomi, Nokia, Huawei, Samsung, Gionee, Lava, Micromax, Karbonn, itel and Apple. The newly launched Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 6 (2018), Nokia 1 and Nokia 8 Sirocco have gained Vodafone VoLTE support with the latest OTA update, and we have already reported about Apple iPhones Vodafone VoLTE support earlier this month.
