Fast growing telecom operator Reliance Jio has partnered with HMD Global and offering free data for customers purchasing a Nokia handset. Under this offer, customers purchasing the Nokia 8 and the Nokia 5 will get additional data of up to 100GB and 50GB respectively. In the past, Reliance Jio has partnered with smartphone brands such as Samsung, Xiaomi, Asus, Vivo, Oppo, etc.

So, the offer is divided into two groups. In the first group, we have only one handset- the Nokia 8 and maybe the upcoming Nokia flagship phones will also cater to this group. In the second group, we have the Nokia 5 smartphone, and the mid-range smartphone, the Nokia 5. Sadly, the Nokia 6 and the Nokia 3 smartphones don't fall into this offer.

Under the offer, the group-1 devices will get additional 10GB data every month with a recharge of Rs 309 and above, whereas the second group devices will get additional 5GB data every month with the recharge of the same Rs 309 and above. Customers will get free data for ten months until August 31, 2018.

The additional data voucher will be credited to your Jio account within 48 hours from the time of recharge. The Reliance Jio SIM card used to recharge on Nokia 8 and Nokia 5 should be activated after October 14, 2017, and November 1, 2017, respectively. That said, the Nokia 8 was up for sale for the first time in India on October 14, 2017, itself.

If you're an eligible customer and received the additional data voucher, you can head over to MyJio App -> My Vouchers -> View Voucher -> Recharge my number -> Confirm Recharge to activate the voucher on your Jio 4G SIM card. After that, the applicable additional data vouchers shall reflect under the My Plans section.

Also, do make a note that the additional data vouchers can be redeemed on the Nokia smartphone you used to recharge. Earlier, Vodafone has partnered with HMD Global to offer free data with the Nokia 6, Nokia 5, and Nokia 3 handsets. Vodafone offered free 30GB data with the said smartphones.

The Nokia 8 is currently available for Rs 36,999 in the Indian market, while the Nokia 5 is available for Rs 12,899 (2GB RAM variant) and Rs 13,499 (3GB RAM variant).
