BSNL, on April 1 has extended the validity period of its various promotional plans for another three months. Included in the list is the affordable STV 26 pack, which offers unlimited voice calls for 26 hours. First announced a few months ago, the STV 26 pack was supposed to expire on March 31, 2017. But BSNL has extended its validity for another three months.

The extension of a promotional plan means that users can recharge with the same plan for the next three months. BSNL will revamp the scheme after 90 days based on the market scenario.

Speaking about the plan, it offers unlimited voice calling for 26 hours, which apparently dubs to Rs. 1 per hour. And that’s way better than other telecom operators offers. Users can make unlimited off-net calls and on-net calls. However, the calls are limited to the home circle. To be precise, you can only call your home circle BSNL number or any other operator number under the offer. If the operator is not from your home circle, you will be charged as per your standard tariff voice rates.

If we pit the STV 26 scheme against other operators unlimited voice calling plans, BSNL is way ahead of all of them. For example, Vodafone is offering one hour of unlimited calling at just Rs 7 per hour, but the calls are limited only to Vodafone to Vodafone.

BSNL is the only operator in India who is looking to provide both voice and data-centric offers. All the private telecom operators in India are seeking to provide best data offers than others, but that isn’t the case with BSNL. The state-run telecom operator also has one more promotional plan of Rs. 339 that gives 2GB data per day along with unlimited off-net voice calling and 25 minutes of on-net voice calls per day.
