Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Android Nougat Update Adds Samsung Pass Feature; Update Rolling Out in India

After a long delay, Samsung finally started seeding the Android Nougat to the Galaxy Note 5 in India. The update brings various UI improvements and fixes several other bugs related to multi-window mode, etc. The update weighs nearly 1.1GB in size and comes with the build number N920GDDU3CQC7. The update takes your device to the Android 7.0 Nougat. Sadly, the update is not based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

Aforesaid, the latest update brings various bug fixes and new performance modes, improves the stability of the phone. According to Samsung, this update improves the usability of the notification panel and quick settings button. In addition, Samsung has also improved the multi-window mode in the Note 5.




The update also brings the new Samsung Pass feature to Galaxy Note 5. The Samsung Pass feature was first introduced with the Galaxy Note 7 and later on added to the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge with the Android Nougat update. Samsung Pass usually eliminates the fuss of remembering the passwords and allows you to fill the passwords by your fingerprint scanner. It behaves kind of a master key for a website.

First up, you need to store your card details at the initial set up of Samsung Pass. Do make a note that the Samsung Pass, as of now, is limited to some applications and it may not work on all the apps. Samsung claims that the stored data is protected under Samsung Knox and the details will not be backed up in Samsung servers as well.

The update is gradually rolling out to all the users of Galaxy Note 5 in India and it will some time to reach the update. Once received, you can install the update right away or can set it to install overnight between 2 AM to 5 AM.
