Back in October, Motorola announced a list of devices that will get treated to Nougat, the list mentioned phones like Moto Z, Moto G4, and others. Sadly, Moto E3 Power was not on the list but many of us were expecting Motorola to include the budget phone in the list as well. However, squashing all the expectations, Motorola has made it clear that Moto E3 Power will not get the Nougat update.
On its support page, Motorola has listed devices that also includes Moto E3 Power but when you click on the phone's icon the page shows the message (as seen in the image above) that the phone will stay on its current version - Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Motorola launched the Moto E3 Power in September 2016, and it was very unlikely for the company not to give it the first big update. On the contrary, other Motorola phones that are getting the Nougat (or already started receiving) update are - Moto Z, Moto G4, Moto G4 Plus, Moto M, Moto X Play.
To recap, the Moto E3 Power features a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display, and is powered by a 1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735P chipset. It sports an 8-megapixel primary camera with LED flash along with a 5-megapixel selfie camera. The smartphone is equipped with waterproof nano-coating. The Moto E3 Power supports 4G VoLTE connectivity and buyers can also avail the Jio Welcome offer on the purchase. It also features front-facing speaker. A 3500mAh battery backs the device with support for fast charging, which is claimed to fuel it up to 5 hours in just 15 minutes charging.
