Xiaomi's Mi Note 2 has been making rounds on the rumor mill since July. Now a new report has surfaced on Weibo, which also has live images of the alleged device. Also, Xiaomi's CEO Lei Jun has revealed that the device is presently under mass production. The Mi Note 2 is a highly awaited device by Xiaomi as it is tipped to come with top of the line specifications.
In some of the reports last, an executive from Xiaomi shared some of the specs that the Mi Note 2 is most likely to feature. The Mi Note 2 might come with a 5.7-inch dual-curved AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 and 6GB of RAM. The device is most likely to come powered by a Snapdragon 821 chipset, 16MP dual-camera, and 5Mp front-facing camera. A 4,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 will back the phablet. It will support connectivity options such as dual-SIM, 4G with VoLTE, USB Type-C and other general options. On the software front, it will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based MIUI 8.
Many of the recently launched smartphones sport a dual-camera lens such as the Huawei P9 and iPhone 7 Plus; it would be interesting to see how Xiaomi makes the dual setup work. Other reports suggest that the Mi Note 2 might feature 128GB of flash storage. Going by the images, we could see that the Mi Note 2 will come packed in a thin bezel-less body. The display looks pretty wide and can easily be dubbed as a smaller sibling of the Mi Max.
Xiaomi is expected to take the Mi Note 2 out of the veil on October 25. The pricing of the device would be the deciding factor whether the Mi Note 2 would stand in competition with other recently launched flagships. Chinese analyst - Pan Juitang suggests that the Mi Note 2 might carry a price tag of ¥4,000, which converts to Rs. 39,800.
