The key feature of the Honor 8 smartphone is its dual-camera setup, something that we have already seen on Huawei’s P9. On Honor 8, there are two 12-megapixel rear cameras, placed side by side. The primary lens of the dual camera is integrated with dual-tone LED flash, f/2.2 aperture, BSI CMOS sensor, laser autofocus, and 1080p video recording capability. The second lens is responsible for capturing in-depth information of the subject, to re-focus on the scene, and absorb better lighting for perfect clicks. There is an 8-megapixel selfie camera on board with a f/2.4 aperture.

For other specifications, the Honor 8 features an all-metal design with a fingerprint scanner placed on the rear of the device. The device features a 5.2-inch full HD 1080p display with 2.5D glass on front screen and back. It is powered by Huawei’s exclusive HiSilicon Kirin 950 octa-core chipset. The phone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and is backed by a 3000mAh battery with fast-charging technology that charges the device to 47 percent  (from zero percent) in just 30 minutes.. It comes in two RAM and storage variants – 3GB RAM/32GB storage and 4GB RAM/64GB storage. The fingerprint sensor on the device is touted to unlock the device in just 0.4 seconds and can also be used for customisable app launcher.

For connectivity, Honor 8 supports 4G with VoLTE and Smart dual-band Wi-Fi switching that supports 2.4 GHz/5 GHz bands and conveniently switches to the faster 5 GHz band when the 2.4 GHz signal goes weak. Other connectivity features include Hybrid dual-SIM, GPRS/ EDGE, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC, and Infrared sensor.
