Other major players in the India Ethernet switch market are Juniper, Hewlett Packard, D-LINK and Netgear. During the quarter, more than 30 vendors shipped Ethernet switches in India, the report said, adding that as many as 7 OEMs shipped above 5,000 Ethernet switches.

The study said that escalating number of internet subscribers in the country coupled with increasing adoption of advanced network solutions by the Corporate and Enterprise segment have fuelled the growth Ethernet Switches in the Indian market. Additionally, rapid developments in telecom infrastructure along with technological advancements in communication and networking industry have accelerated the sales of these devices in the country.

“Increasing digital connectivity across tier 2 & 3 cities, rising penetration of 3G/4G technology, and decline in average selling price of these devices have led to the growth of India Ethernet Switches Market. Additionally, government initiatives towards network digitalization coupled with growing spending in the network infrastructure space, primarily across the IT and corporate sector have further assisted in the market development,” Anuj Mehrotra (Senior Research Analyst, 6Wresearch-India Electronics Division) said.

In the recent quarters, India Ethernet Switch Market has witnessed the growth of Gigabit Ethernet switches owing to the increasing demand for higher data rate among the Consumers and Enterprise segment. “Moreover, growing need for network connectivity among SME & SOHO segment coupled with rising household uptake of network enabled devices have boosted the demand for Ethernet Switches in the country,” according to Pulkit Shrivastava (Research Analyst, 6Wresearch-India Electronics Division).

Emerging application segments including Healthcare, Hospitality and e-commerce have resulted in the increase in demand for enterprise switches in the country. However, lack of consumer awareness and absence of essential network infrastructure, especially in the remote parts of the country are some of the major factors restraining the growth of the India Ethernet switch market.
