According to a China-based analyst who works for IHS Technology, Xiaomi has made impressive sales result in Q1 2016 by selling 14.98 million handsets worldwide. Xiaomi has slightly missed its sales target of 80 million handsets last year as it managed to sell only 70 million units in 2015. Xiaomi intends to improve upon such results this year, and they’ve already introduced a couple of compelling devices.

Earlier this year, Xiaomi released Redmi 3 and Redmi Note 3. The company also launched the Mi 5, which went on sale through flash sale model. Devices such as Mi 5, Redmi Note 3 (India release), and the Redmi 3 Pro having hit the stores, and a few handsets like the Xiaomi Max and the Mi Note 2 in the offing, 2016 sales could turn out to be a fortune for Xiaomi mobiles.

Unlike the manufacturers like Huawei and Lenovo, Xiaomi products are limited in terms of availability, with China and India being the main markets. A huge jump in sales figure may happen when the company spreads out to other regions, especially emerging markets.

Moreover, Xiaomi has plans to establish up single-brand retail stores to sell Mi devices in India, the company’s biggest overseas market.
