Oppo recently launched two smartphones in China, the Oppo R9 and R9 Plus. Now, the company is all set to launch these devices for the Indian market. Oppo has already started teasing launch event, which will be held on April 5 in India. The invite only hints that it will be a camera-focused smartphone, but Oppo’s tweet teaser clearly indicates that it will be the R9 smartphone. The company is expected to announce the R9 Plus along with the R9.

Both the smartphones are equipped with 16-megapixel front-facing cameras. Going by the outlook, both the devices bear a stark resemblance with the Apple iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. This is not the first time that Oppo’s design looks like a clear rip-off from Apple’s iPhone, the Oppo R7 too had the similar design as the Apple iPhone 6.
The Oppo R9 features a 5.5-inch 1080p display with 77.68% screen-to-body ratio that gives it an almost bezel-less outlook. The phone is powered by a 2GHz octa-Core MediaTek Helio X10 processor clubbed with 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage (expandable up to 128GB). It sports 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, PDAF, and a 16-megapixel selfie camera. On the other hand, the Oppo R9 Plus comes with similar specs, but it features a 6-inch 1080p display, and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 (MSM8976) processor, a 16-megapixel rear and front camera with Sony IMX298 sensor. Both the devices feature a fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button, and run Android 5.1 Lollipop with ColorOS 3.0 skinned on top.
