Idea on a 4G services expansion spree, launches it in 7 more cities in Kerala

Idea Cellular, which started 4G LTE services in Kerala last December has now expanded its 4G service to 10 cities across Kerala. Initially the service was only available in Kochi, Malappuram and Kozhikode.

Idea 4G LTE service in now available in cities of Kozhikode, Ernakulam, Kannur, Kollam, Kottayam, Malappuram, Palakkad, Pathanamthitta, Thiruvananthapuram and Thrissur. Within just three months of 4G service launch, Idea has now covered 10 of the 14 district headquarters in the state.

Idea Cellular is already the market leader in Kerala circle having a wide 3G network across the state. It now has a strategic advantage over its rivals Vodafone and Airtel who are lagging behind in terms of expanding 4G service in the state. Further, Idea continues to offer double data on all 4G data packs above 1GB.

Idea Cellular currently holds 1800 MHz 4G spectrum in 10 telecom circles which constitutes around 60% of Idea’s gross revenue market.
