MapMyIndia’s RealView technology will bring additional safety and self-driving capabilities in cars, claims the company. The technology currently provides advanced map data enabling seamless navigation systems in cars. The advanced version will sync high-resolution panoramas (360-degree photos) with highly accurate GPS and accelerometer data. This would provide a complete and precise dataset for the cars’ driving systems.
With this RealView technology, even the potholes on the road, speed breakers, road signs, traffic signals etc. can be accurately pinpointed. With accuracy in the navigation system, the cars can get advanced warnings and hence, can take intelligent decisions on driving.
Besides the self-driving cars, the Government agencies too can use RealView technology data set for improvement of road design and traffic hazards of the country.
“We are very passionate about making cars and cities in India smarter and safer, which can ultimately improve the lives of all citizens in India. We have been building extremely detailed, accurate and updated maps of India for the last 20 years and have continuously invested in building cutting-edge technologies that can push the boundaries of what’s possible in India,” said Rakesh Verma, Managing Director, MapMyIndia on the new launch.
